Harry Odunze is a fine art photographer from Benin City in Edo State, Nigeria. His passion for photography was ignited in 2018, driven by a deep love for telling Africa’s untold stories and using photography to celebrate identity, pride, and cultural heritage. For Odunze, sharing African narratives is essential for enriching global perspectives to empower communities and nurture a deeper understanding of the continent’s rich history. 

Inspired by his environment, Odunze draws from the vibrant energy of the ancient Benin City, where he finds endless stories yet to be told. His work is defined by bold colours and striking contrasts, which frame the elegance of the Africa he knows and loves most. Through his lens, Odunze offers a captivating perspective on African life – one that is deeply personal yet resonates with a global audience. 

Odunze holds a degree in Human Kinetics and Sports Science from the University of Benin. He has been featured on platforms such as Smithsonian Magazine and Africaphotoawards, among others. His work has also been selected for exhibitions by various brands, both online and in physical spaces, including the Jalón Àngel Award, Contrarium Magazine, Third Iris, and Margin Magazine. Odunze dreams of owning a large art gallery where he can exhibit his own work while also providing a platform for other artists like him to showcase their talent.
